As a hospital trained pediatric dental specialist, Dr. Kelman has had over 17 years of experience in multidisciplinary dentistry. This breadth of experience has given her the training to work directly with specialists in medical fields such as oncology, cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, Ear nose and Throat, and Infection Disease. She has worked on cases in the operating rooms in the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with all of these specialists. Much of the time, the complex cases are then presented as learning tools for the lectures she prepares for her physician colleagues in the hospital.
Treatment of these children and adults with special needs and rare medical complexities has also resulted in her training with and working closely with her dental colleagues treating temporomandibular disorders, prosthodontics, orthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and sedation dentistry. Many patients have been referred to her from colleagues in the medical and dental field as a “second opinion” and “treatment plan reviewer.”
This breadth of unique experience led to not only clinicians asking for assistance with cases, but also attorneys reaching out to her for help with both defendants and plaintiffs in high-profile dental cases across the state. Working on the cases she truly believes in, Dr. Kelman has enjoyed her experience as a leading dental expert and the knowledge that she can provide to assist with and thoroughly evaluate the cases.
